Over the past 10 years Smudge Design has grown into a successful web and graphic design studio lucky enough to work with a broad range of varying sized companies from all different sectors. Splitting our time between Dublin and Berlin we are always open to a new project or collaborative endeavour. Would gladly work with them again.Armed with a mission to get the absolute most out of every day we are constantly experimenting with our creative processes and methodologies and looking for new challenges along the way. They understood the concept I was playing with and worked through several iterations to get to something fun and original. Their availability and resourcefulness were greatly appreciated and allowed us to meet our deadlines properly.Īs a client and as a reader of the book we are fully satisfied of the graphic design work performed by UNIT." "Working with UNIT was a great pleasure as they offered a lot of flexibility and adaptability during the project on top of bringing interesting ideas for the design of the book. Our members were delighted with the new look journal - Unit studio worked well for us!"

I was impressed by that! They are very conscientious and professional as well as being pleasant and courteous to work with. "Before undertaking the complete revamp of our journal, The Homeopathic Times, the guys at Unit spent a considerable amount of time doing an indepth study of homeopathy itself and getting to understand how homeopaths work with their patients. A greater understanding of the subject allows us to make more informed design decisions. Just as important is the research and development phases the amount of time invested here is reflected in the final outcome. A good design brief establishes exactly what the client hopes to achieve from the project while also acting as a starting point for the designer. Prior to our initial consultation we will often edit (or sometimes re-write) the brief to ensure it adresses all the client's requirements clearly and concisely. Time spent getting the design brief accurate from the start is time well spent. We find the earlier stages of the process are often the most important. We work rigorously through stages of research and development in order to ensure appropriate solutions that stand the test of time.īelow is an overview of our design process.
